The Red Dot Award has been celebrating product design ever since its inception back in 1955. The internationally recognised quality mark for products characterised by exceptional design quality is awarded each year by an independent panel of experts.

Guided by the motto of “in search of good design and innovation”, a 40-strong jury evaluated over 6300 product submissions. The stringent evaluation criteria included level of innovation, functionality, technical quality, ergonomics and durability. The S8 stood out from the crowd in an evaluation process spanning several days. Its clear, symmetrical design and harmonious lines create elegant aesthetic appeal, but there was more than just the outer appearance to take into consideration – the high level of quality and exceptional functionality also proved impressive.
